Product Description
Insertion magnetic flow meters are typically used in large pipelines where installing a full-bore meter is impractical. They consist of a probe inserted into the pipe and an external transmitter, and are widely used in water treatment, wastewater treatment, and chemical processing industries.
A key advantage is that they can be installed without shutting down the process, saving time and cost. They offer a more economical solution for large-pipe flow measurement while retaining the benefits of standard magnetic flow meters.
|
Features of Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter
Non-stop installation & maintenance: Supports online hot tapping, allowing installation, removal, inspection, or replacement without stopping flow or production.
Lower overall cost: Uses less material than full-bore meters, reducing purchase and installation costs while maintaining good performance.
Ideal for large pipelines: Especially suitable for DN300 and above, such as municipal water supply, wastewater treatment, and circulating water systems.
Easy upgrades & retrofits: Ideal for adding flow measurement to aging pipelines without major modifications.
In addition to the benefits of standard electromagnetic flowmeters, insertion types are compact, lightweight, easy to install, and cost-effective—making them the best choice for large-diameter pipes.
Insertion Type Magnetic Flow Meters
Plug-in Electromagnetic Flowmeter
|
Insertion Type and Ordinary Electromagnetic Flowmeter Difference
Connection: insertion type electromagnetic flow meter is convenient, no need to cut off the pipeline; directly in the pipeline hole; pipe section type, need to cut off the pipeline;
Accuracy: insertion type electromagnetic flow meter accuracy is in ±1% or ±1.5%; pipe section electromagnetic flowmeter accuracy is in 0.5% ~ 0.2% leve.
Cost: for large caliber, insertion type electromagnetic flowmeter cost is lower.
In addition to lining and electrode materials, the price of an ordinary electromagnetic flowmeter increases with pipe diameter—the larger the diameter, the higher the cost. In contrast, the price of an insertion electromagnetic flowmeter is largely independent of pipe size. Therefore, for large-diameter pipeline flow measurement, insertion-type electromagnetic flow meters are especially suitable and can significantly reduce equipment costs.
