The mag meter flow meter usually works in bad conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to choose an electromagnetic transmitter with appropriate protection grade to prevent external dust and moisture from damaging the electromagnetic flowmeter. In China's flowmeter market, the protection grades of compact flowmeter are mainly IP65 and IP67. The protection grade of the remote magnetometer is IP68.
A. IP65 all-in-one mag meter flow meter
IP65 electromagnetic flowmeter can prevent all external dust and water from entering the magnetic flowmeter, and prevent water from invading the converter and damaging the electromagnetic flowmeter.
B. IP67 compact mag meter flow meter
It is also dustproof. Compared with IP65 flowmeter, it has better performance under water conditions. IP67 integrated wastewater flowmeter can be immersed in water for a short time.
C. IP68 remote mag meter flow meter
Indicates that the mag meter flow meter has a submersible function and can work in the water for a long time.
It is suitable for the scenario where the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor needs to be immersed in water for a long time, such as the electromagnetic flowmeter installed in the deep sea or sewage.
When selecting the protection level, it should be determined according to the actual use environment and conditions of the electromagnetic flowmeter. For example, if the sensor needs to be installed below the ground and often flooded, IP68 protection level should be selected; if the sensor is installed above the ground, IP65 or IP67 should be selected.In any case, the display part of the electromagnetic flowmeter can not be used or water ingress, which will lead to electromagnetic flowmeter damage. Electromagnetic Flow Measurement
1️⃣ Flow rate and flow range: determine the normal flow rate of the measured fluid and the expected maximum and minimum flow rate to ensure that the range of the selected flow meter covers the actual working conditions. The flow rate should be selected between 1-10m/s, which may need to be adjusted according to the media characteristics to avoid too low leading to loss of accuracy or too high causing wear and tear.
2️⃣ Media characteristics: consider the conductivity of the fluid, corrosive, abrasive, whether it contains solid particles and so on. Fluids with low conductivity may require special low conductivity designs, and corrosive fluids require corrosion-resistant lining materials, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), neoprene rubber, and so on.
3️⃣ Accuracy Requirements: select the appropriate accuracy level according to the application requirements. In general industrial applications, the accuracy is between ±0.5% and ±0.2%FS, and more accurate models should be selected for high accuracy requirements.
4️⃣ caliber selection: the caliber of the flowmeter is not necessarily the same as the diameter of the pipeline, it should be selected according to the actual flow demand, if necessary, can be connected through the reducer.
5️⃣ Installation conditions: Consider the installation space, whether the flange connection is required, whether it is easy to maintain and so on. Insertion type is suitable for large-diameter pipeline, full-flow type is suitable for small to medium-diameter pipeline.
6️⃣ Environmental conditions: including temperature, pressure, whether there is a danger of explosion, etc., to ensure that the flowmeter's material and protection level (e.g., IP rating) are adapted to the site environment.
7️⃣ Communication and power supply: Select the appropriate communication protocol (e.g. HART, Modbus, etc.) according to the compatibility of the control system, and consider the power supply mode (DC/AC, battery power).
8️⃣ Cost and Maintenance: Balance the initial investment with long-term operation and maintenance costs, choose cost-effective products, and consider the service and support capabilities of the supplier.
9️⃣ Lining and Electrode Materials: Select appropriate lining and electrode materials according to media characteristics and working conditions to ensure the life of the flowmeter and measurement stability.
Certifications and standards: ensure that the flowmeter meets the relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as food safety, explosion-proof certification.
