Product Description
The AION13 uses a modular multi-channel sensor architecture that combines ion-selective measurement, pH measurement and temperature measurement in one digital probe. The sensor can accommodate up to two ion-selective sensing elements.
Simultaneous Multi-Ion Measurement
Two target ions can be monitored from the same sensor assembly.
For example:
NH₄⁺ + NO₃⁻
This configuration provides simultaneous ammonium and nitrate monitoring from one multi-parameter probe.
Secondary-Ion Compensation
The second ion-selective channel can also measure an interfering ion and provide that information to the internal compensation algorithm.
Confirmed compensation configurations include:
NH₄⁺ + K⁺
Potassium measurement is used as an input to compensation of the ammonium measurement.
NO₃⁻ + Cl⁻
Chloride measurement is used as an input to compensation of the nitrate measurement.
In addition, the integrated pH measurement participates in the automatic compensation algorithm.
This combination of multi-ion sensing, interference compensation, pH compensation and replaceable electrodes is the main engineering difference between the AION13 and the more compact AION11 and AION12 platforms.
Multi-Ion Measurement and Compensation
Ion-selective electrodes respond primarily to their target ions, but measurement can also be influenced by other ions and changes in sample chemistry.
The AION13 addresses this by combining multiple sensing signals within one digital sensor platform.
