Full bore electromagnetic flowmeter

The full bore electromagnetic flowmeter is used to measure the volume flow of conductive liquids with conductivity greater than 5μS/cm , such as acids, alkalis, salts and other highly corrosive liquids.


The Full bore electromagnetic flowmeter is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. The inductive voltage is generated when a conductor cuts the magnetic line and move in a magnetic field.The electromagnetic flowmeter generates a constant alternating magnetic field by switching direct current I with alternating polar transformations.The magnetic field direction is perpendicular to the direction of the flow .When magnetic flow meter measures the flow rate,the medium flows through the magnetic field.the moving medium is equivalent to the moving conductor,inducts an electric force Ue ,which is proportional to the velocity of the medium, as shown in the followed figure.

The electromagnetic flowmeter detects the inductive electric force through two measuring electrodes and transmits it to the converter for processing,based on measuring pipe cross-sectional area A ,the volume flow Q of the fluid can be calculated .
