ARTang Magnetic Flow Meters in Drinking Water Treatment Plants
ARTang Aimag A electromagnetic flow meters with PFA liners are used in chemical dosing systems at drinking water treatment plants operated by CSD Water Service Co., Ltd. The meters measure treatment chemical solution flow, providing an operating reference for the dosing stage that supports raw water clarification.
The dosing equipment is manufactured by Nanfang Pump Industry (CNP) and introduces treatment chemicals into raw water to promote coagulation and flocculation before sedimentation.

Chemical Dosing for Raw Water Clarification
Surface water from rivers can contain fine sediment, suspended particles and other impurities that do not readily settle on their own. The dosing equipment introduces treatment chemicals into the raw water to support coagulation and flocculation, helping fine particles form larger flocs that can be separated during sedimentation.
This clarification stage prepares the water for subsequent treatment, including filtration and disinfection, as part of the process of producing drinking water that meets the applicable finished-water quality requirements.
Flow Measurement in the Chemical Dosing System
The dosing pump setting provides an operating target, while an inline flow meter measures the solution actually passing through the pipe. This gives operators a reference for checking chemical delivery and assessing flow changes when adjusting the dosing equipment.
At the plants, Aimag A meters are installed in the chemical dosing pipework alongside pumps, valves and pressure gauges. Their local displays allow operators to check the measured flow during operation and routine inspection.

Aimag A Flow Meters with PFA Liners
The supplied meters combine a PFA-lined measuring tube with electromagnetic flow measurement for conductive liquids.
PFA liner for chemical service. The liner separates the treatment solution from the metal measuring tube. PFA’s chemical resistance makes it a relevant material option for dosing applications, with suitability depending on the particular solution and operating conditions.
An unobstructed measuring bore. The Aimag A has no moving parts or internal flow-obstructing measuring elements. This allows flow monitoring without introducing a rotor or other mechanical measuring component into the chemical delivery line.
Local flow indication. The integrated display provides an accessible reading at the dosing equipment, supporting on-site checks of the measured flow.
The installation photographs show the meters mounted in vertical pipe sections within the dosing assemblies, illustrating how the instruments fit into the complete equipment layout.
